Lemn Sissay’s Book Launch: Listener

It’s Lemn Sissay’s book launch tonight at the festival.   This morning I looked again at the programme cover which features Lemn.  It’s fresh and forward looking and signifies change.  Wave your arm in the air like you don’t care.  Upwards.   The mid-sleeve white shirt look is striking. But is it just me or is it friggin freezing at the moment?  mid-sleeve!   You got to be kidding.  Allegedly, when you shout poetry from the rooftops you become immune to the harsh elements.  On behalf of the thermally-challenged  everywhere, Lemn your coat needs YOU!   No, seriously, yes really seriously, here’s to Lemn and his new poetry collection and his way with words – congratulations on Listener, a vibrant, soaring and heartfelt book for our times.
